The Great I

What becomes of a man,

who bereft of passion

lets the day escape him,

Your light has long since dimmed.

Either a faulty wire

or a fuse gone awry,

Still, the blame lies with you.

Too good to find reason.

Can’t start the journey why,

to tackle the question

uncover the great “I”.

The world lay cast aside,

though beautiful and true.

I ask must you do this?

Perhaps you are content-

overzealous to be.

Roll the dice-take the hit

Revel in God’s decree!
